History Department
How is the history department? Are the profs engaging and involved? Do you feel there's a good selection of courses every year?

I'm going to be a freshman next year, and I've only heard good things about the department. I'm pretty sure history is the third most popular major on campus after Government and Economics.

where does the biology rank among the favortie and most popular subjects? how about physics?

Bowdoin's most popular majors are English, history, economics, gov, and biology. Not sure about the physics. You can check out their links:

according to the Fiske guide, Physics majors have the lowest average GPA of any major. I am not sure if that has to do with the fact that physics in general is hard or it is especially hard at Bowdoin
