Walking on

How difficult is it to walk on to Bowdoin varsity sports? Is it impossible in some sports (like soccer) to make the team? And how much of a time cram is it to both play sports (varsity or intramural) and study?

I think its definitely easier for some teams than others. I would imagine that it would be easier to walk on to the larger teams and ones like track or XC, especially if you can be competitive. I'm guessing you're interested in XC? Why don't you look at meet results and see how your times compare to those currently on the team?

Varsity sports will definitely be time consuming (practices at least 5x a week, games etc). Intramurals generally don't practice, so they'd be less time consuming.
