incoming student- housing question

okay, so i've scoured the res life website, it seems that the freshmen dorms do not come with a couch provided for the common room- is that correct? im thinking of bringing a futon for the room but want to make sure that bowdoin is not already providing one beforehand.

thanks

there is a couch provided, at least that was the case with my son's dorm--Coleman--it's the same, wooden, furniture in all the freshman dorms. cheers to a great freshman experience!

hey morandi! I'm going to be in coleman this year

and yes, they do provide a couch to all common rooms. though you may want to bring chairs for extra seating in case friends are over and etc.

There is one couch provided, but my freshman year we brought a couple extras and I would suggest you bring at least one other.

what about if you're living in a double? i know the common rooms tend to be smaller than in quads.. is there any space for extra seating etc or is it already pretty cramped?

Depending on how you set up your room their may be room for an extra chair or two in a double. You probably could not fit two couches.
