enlighten me-housing?

"First-year students at Brandeis are guaranteed on-campus housing for their first four consecutive semesters. Midyear students are guaranteed on-campus housing for their first three consecutive semesters."

Can someone explain what this means? This was taken directly off the website. Sorry, I know it sounds pretty self explanatory but I don't really understand.

I'm just guessing, but i think it means if you enter as a freshman in the fall, you are guaranteed on campus housing for two years (4 semesters), but if you enter in the spring of freshman year, you are still guaranteed through the end of sophomore year, but that only means 3 semesters since you weren't there for fall freshman year.
