Brandeis premed classes!!

Hey, i heard that Brandeis's premed science classes are nearly impossible. Well, in high school in honors bio I got an A- average and in honors chem i got a B+ I also got an A- in AP bio. Do you think I will be able to handle the work load? I'm very committed to studying and doing my work but does Brandeis have such hard pre med that its impossible to have a life outside of school work like going to a few parties on campus and leaving the campus a little for fun, and will doing a little worse in such hard courses than in other colleges effect my entrance into med school?

Science courses at Brandeis are demanding, perhaps moreso than elsewhere. If GPA is of concern, perhaps you should consider going elsewhere.

The science courses are challenging, but definitely doable.

I personally didn't take Chemistry, but as a first-year, many students on the premed track take General Chemistry. It is very challenging, but if you put the work in, you can do well. My friend put in a lot of effort, and still received an A. They curve at the end of the semester (I think an 85 is an A). They also give you the opportunity to redeem lost points on the final exam.

There is so much help available to chemistry students. If you take advantage of what Brandeis offers you, you should do fine as long as you don't go into the class expect to sail through and still get an A.

Brandeis is known for preparing students for medical school. The AP Biology course is not equivalent to the pre-med biology classes unfortunately. I also got a 5 on the AP Bio exam but it only gives you credit or placement out of BIOL 15 (pre-med students need BIOL 22).
