Help

I heard BYU had an amazing business program, while also hearing about the 98% mormon student body. I don't even know what a mormon is. Do you have to be Mormon, or do you have a better shot to get in if your Mormon? What's the deal?

IrishGuy, be advised that there is not a lot of entries on CC by BYU applicants. Yes, BYU does have an excellent business school, and their accounting program in ranked in the top 5 in the nation. As for what are Mormons, go to their website at byu.edu and check on the honor code....it will give you some idea of what is expected of an applicant. In my opinion, I would think that a non-Mormon might have a slight advantage since the diversity would be greatly welcomed. Keep in mind that all applicants will need to submit a recommendation from the applicant's religious leader, and must confirm one's willingness to live by the honor code while attending BYU.

There is no advantage to being Mormon in getting accepted- you just have to agree to live by the honor code and get an Ecclesiastical Endorsement from a religious/spiritual leader. You would probably even have a slight advantage in acceptance as redsnake said.
