letters to brown

my son was deferred early decision...so he wrote (typed) a letter to Brown indicating his interest in going to Brown, what he had done since his application etc. and so did his high school principal...both received letters from director of admission in response...i thought this was a nice touch...the principal said he had never received a response when he sent a letter of support to a college/university...don't think it means anything about my son's chances..just that Brown is doing a nice thing for those who take the time to write a letter

they usually write back i think. i had supplemental recommendations sent and my recommenders had letters written back to them. i think any correspondence gets SOME sort of response, whether an electronic letter or a handwritten one.
