questions on classes

two things:

- how do I find WHO is teaching each class? (the mailing of fall courses doesn't have instructors listed for every course...online it lists "TBA" for these). if such info is not available, how soon do we find out? is there such a site where I can go for most up-to-date info? (as an aside: For example, there is an instructor listed for one section of a course, but for another section no such instructor is listed; do we automatically assume it is the same?)

- are there any websites or ways for students to contact students who previously took the same courses to purchase textbooks? I think this is a better option than buying used from stores, etc.

Thanks.

1. the most up to date info would be here:
http://courses.brown.edu/

though i would highly recommend mocha, which synchronizes their info from the horribly difficult to navigate banner website thing, and makes selecting courses so much easier
http://mocha.cs.brown.edu/mocha/main.jsp

and if by some reason they didn't update the website, maybe your mycourses page might clue you in. though i doubt the courses would show up now, maybe when semester starts. but anyway, here it is: https://mycourses.brown.edu

and about the instructors being not listed, i don't think it's safe to assume the same, cos the instructors may just be unlisted because they have yet to determine who it is. if an instructor was taking many sections, they usually would just fill the professor's name into each section, they wouldn't leave it blank.

2. students sell their books on the daily jolt, i bought course packets, books, and even a calculator and a television off it before. it's really useful. for books, the textbook exchange is where you want to go. and yes, they do list the books by the courses, so it's easy to find the books you need
