I want to say there is race discrimination for college admission. For Asian student, if the SAT lower than 2300, it is very likely to be rejected immediately. For other races, they still can survive well. Even for Asian student who got very high SAT 2300+, High GPA, lot of activities, strong leaderships, etc, they still got very high chance to get deffered, and then in waitlist and got nothing. I did some investigation on many college threads from those public data and truely admit the fact. It is not fair!

@JustMom2016,
Yes, because Asians are just naturally a high-achieving race. Since colleges want diversity, they pit Asians against Asians - and the top asians, by some measure of extracurriculars, leadership, scores, and personality win out. It's not always by SAT score though.

Just confused why it isn't 5pm anymore...

This allows west coast and Arizona kids time to arrive home from school -- a nice gesture from Brown.

So it's 7PM or 5PM EDT? I'll actually be glad if it's 7PM because 5pm there meant 2pm here, and it's 15 minutes before the school ends. I was worried because my teacher is super strict, and I thought I would just wait 15 minutes.

Good Luck to everyone!!!! This still doesn't feel real!

That is very strange that there were two different emails... I am from the Midwest, and mine said 7pm EDT

FAQ to Check Decision

1. I typed my Username and password and cannot connect to the site, what should I do?

The Office of College Admission sent you two separate email messages, both with the subject of "Your Brown Application". The first email sent to you contained your username along with activation instructions and the second email contained your passkey. You should be using this username along with the password you selected when you activated your account with your initial passkey. If you did not receive these email messages from the Office of College Admission, or are having trouble connecting, please contact our CIS Help Desk at 401-863-4357, option 1.

2. After I activated, I typed in my username and password but I get an authentication error?

Try resetting your password by using our automated online password reset. If you are presented with a security question which is blank, or you are unable to use this online method while using one of our supported browsers (Minimum recommendations are Firefox 3.6 and above or Internet Explorer 7 and above) then you must contact our CIS Help Desk at 401-863-4357, option 1. Please note that phone lines will be busy during this time of year. Please also note that, due to FERPA laws, we can only assist the applicant with account issues.

3. I have logged in successfully, but am now unsure of where to go to check my decision?

Follow these steps:

Click on "View your admission decision" in the main menu.

or

Step 1: Click on the Applicant and Student link
Step 2: Click on Review my Application(s)
Step 3: Under Admission Term, click on Fall 2012
Step 4: Scroll mid-way down the screen to find the Decision "Click Here" button.

Well I'm from Washington, and I got 7PM EDT.
This is really weird. I hope they clarify on this ASAP. People are gonna start speculating, which is never a good thing!!
