Concerned letter about mid-year grades

Has anyone else received one of these?

I was accepted ED, and when my counselor sent in my first-quarter senior grades, I had 7 A's and 1 mid-B. After Brown received my complete first-semester transcript (2 mid-B's, 1 high-B, 5 A's), the dean of admissions sent me a letter indicating that they had "seen a decline in grades this marking period."

I know my grades have dropped a little, but Economics and Calc were pretty difficult for me this past semester, and it's not like I'm failing anything. Should I be worried?

You don't need to be worried about being rescinded right now, as long as your grades don't go down any further. Just remember to keep working through the spring.

Thanks for your reply, bruno.

But I mean, rescinded? I was wondering if I should be worried about getting on some sort of probation list or something. Isn't my offer being rescinded a little much? I thought this letter was a little harsh to begin with. I've read other threads about letters like these from Brown, and the reason I was so shocked about getting one myself was that it seemed like only students with C's and D's were getting them.

Wow

that's ridiculous...I can't believe they did that! I seriously only thought they cared about Cs on transcripts.

Being rescinded would be pretty harsh, but I've heard of it happening. I suppose you could be put on academic probation as well. Honestly, I'm surprised you got one of those. One of my classes dropped to a B- in second semester of senior year, and Brown didn't blink an eye.
