The Stupidest Statement in College Admissions History

Omg, I was reading over my Brown essay, and I wrote this: "...I truly can rape the benefits of persistence and dedicated work..."
LOL, I meant reap.
Great, now they think a registered sex offender is trying to get accepted to the Ivy League. Sigh.

a call or email can fix that, put a voice to the app, and show a sense of humor if you act as though you just want to clarify but are otherwise amused by it.

alot of luck will help also. : )

Haha... that's awesome. It gave me a good laugh, and hopefully it'll give admissions a laugh too.

Haha... that's pretty damn hilarious. I bet you anything they'll start using that as their "please proofread your application" warning during the tour / infosession. Doesn't mean you won't get in, though.

They read all the essays fast, so maybe they won't even notice it.

LOL, actually someone in my history class last year did the exact same thing ("rape" in place of "reap") so at least you know you're not alone
