Hey - I just read something that said Brown no longer posts admission decisions online? Does that mean we have to wait for the letter, or is there an 'unofficial' decision posted online?
For 2012, 19% were accepted ED, but subtracting about 160 athletes, the acceptance rate is more like 13%. Over 2000 were deferred, which is about 70% (which isn't very nice because they end up rejecting most of those deferred later anyways). This leaves about 11% rejected.
And SAT scores can take up to 2 weeks and they may not update your file immediately so I wouldn't worry yet.
checked out Harvard's 2017 SCEA discussion thread just out of curiosity and discovered that the thread was started in July and now has 15 pages of posts.
Don't panic yet if you haven't gotten a call or e-mail about an interview and you are an ED candidate. The regional chairs who assign the interviews are sometimes behind on this, and there is some later shuffling around of assignments. However, do check your "spam" mail regularly. A lot of e-mail services, and notoriously true of school based ones in particular, will dump your interviewers mail to you into spam as an unknown address. The interviewers are supposed to get the reports back to Brown by December 1st for ED, so if you haven't had any contact by the end of this week, then I would call admissions to check on this. Also, while Brown tries to offer every applicant an interview, there may be cases due to no available interviewer in your area, where some students will not be interviewed. (That does not count against you, either.) Good luck, have fun and enjoy your interview!
Why I'm worried is because there are three applicants from my school. Two of them have received interview calls already and the third one (me) hasn't. Should I be worried or is that fine?
Do you think I should contact Brown about whether they have received my SAT Subject Scores? I sent them on 26th October and it says its missing although more than two weeks have passed (on the application summary thing).
