| Other schools....umm, I liked Northwestern and I applied for the Emory Scholars Program, but being from the metropolitan area (live in suburbs), I like one school in NYC.
As for the decisions, they do not send them any later than Dec 15th. I believe that the website says that. |

ED decisions mailed no later than this date
So expect them in the mail between the 17th and the 21st. Unless you get yours sent early.
My guess is, once you hit December 10th, start checking your application status if you want to see the decision online. |

| what does everyone think their chances are now that everything has been submitted?
I'd put my chances at 55% for ED.
I think I'm going to regret ever posting this. :/ |

| To Ailey:
Thank you for your suggestion! Actually I did send an email to the admission office after coming back from the cafe, where the interview should have taken place. They contacted me within 24 hours and told me to wait for rearrangement by the local coordinator. My interviewer contacted me yesterday and apologized for the failed interview. She was sick for three days. We will meet on this weekend again.
Wish I could show the best myself! And all Brown EDers here on CC get the acceptance letter! |

| Deferred means you are put into the RD applicant pool. You didn't make the cut for ED, but the commission hasn't eliminated you and they still think you have Brown potential.
Rejected means you are flat out, well, rejected. Do not pass go, do not collect $200. |

| it would be great if some of the decisions were online before December 15th!!! How likely do you think that is? My patience is waning - scratch that - it's totally gone. I WANT TO KNOW!!! |

| According to the article, Brown only rejects 12% of its ED applicants....I would feel horrible being rejected to begin with, but knowing that 88% of the other applicants are in or are given a second chance really makes me feel uneasy. It makes the rejection hurt 100,000 times more! |

| daveb,
Sorry! I didn't mean to ruin your day. You are a strong applicant and I wish you all the best in the admissions process. A number of my daughter's classmates were not admitted to Brown ED last year (and several of these were then rejected RD) but they ended up at schools that they love (e.g., Yale, Penn/Wharton, Princeton, etc.). Things usually work out. I think Brown tries very hard to choose people who can independently embrace the opportunities provided and who will thrive in the Brown environment.
Good luck! Try to occupy yourself for the next month - decisions will be out before you know it. |
