Awards?

This may be a stupid question, but I'll go ahead and ask. I don't have any special any extraordinary awards, but I do have many interesting extracurriculars. I mean, I THINK I have a strong essay and extracurriculars, but the awards area seems to be lacking....

Does anyone know anyone else who got in without a strong awards section?

I've only got one single award. It's one i got in 10th grade from my school for positive attitude and exceptional improvement in my german. Should i include this one or just leave the award part completely blank? which is better?
