Notification for Regular Decision Applicants

Ironic, isn't it, that we find out whether or not we're accepted by April 1 - April Fool's Day?

Haha.

"Dear Applicant,
Congratulations! Your application has been reviewed, and we've decided to accept you!

Sincerely,
Brown

APRIL FOOLS!"

I remember there was a thread about best/worst acceptance/rejection letters, and someone suggested as a rejection letter a big postcard that only says, in large black letters, "No."

haha! I didn't notice that, that's really interesting!

I think it would be even more harsh if they stapled a Burger King application to the back of the letter.

hahaha I agree it's weird they decided on April 1!!!!

I heard there was some school (it was a LAC but I don't remember which one) whose rejection letter reads like this: We have looked into the glass orb of your future...and ____________College is not in it.

Harsh but kind of refreshing. Lol in my deferral letter from Brown I don't think they even said the word defer.... the whole letter basically really didn't say much. I would rather a massive card with DEFERRED in red letters.

...and maybe a short sentence saying "Better luck in the RD round!

@ pirate monkey,

I beleive it is Carleton you are talking about.

Nonetheless, I'd personally love to get a postcard with "NO" written on it. Nice and to the point. I don't need a blabbery form letter talking about how much I am worth when they just had a computer tack my name on to it!

I know this is unrelated but I do enjoy a good thread hijacking....

Does Brown still accept pictures from applicants?

the hard copy application has a space for a picture but if you do the app on-line it isn't mentioned. it's really a small square on the app. they pretty much got a picture of my eyeball!

I think, since decisions are going out on April Fools day, Brown should send out those cards that say "NO" to acceptees with an attached packet that says "Burger King Job Application" on the outside, but then you open it and it's like "APRIL FOOLS! Congratulations! You have been admitted to..."
