Interviews?

Am I supposed to be contacted? Should I let them know if I want one? I'm a bit confused.

According to the website, they contact you after they receive your full application. If they don't contact you, that means there was no alumnus in your area, and you shouldn't worry about it.

I received an email today from an alum saying she'd contact me by phone sometime this coming week to schedule an interview.

Interviews seem to be first come, first serve. I submitted my complete application in early December.

I am an alumni interviewer for Brown and all students who apply are offered alumni interviews unless you are at certain prep schools.

It's not necessarily first come first served.

What happens is that the alumni in charge of your geographic area goes online and connects the applicant's name to the name of an interviewer, and then sends an email to the interviewer. Many of the alumni geographic chairpeople wait until after the holidays, and for most of the names to be posted, before making assignments. And then, it's up to the alumni interviewer to contact you. If you don't hear anything by early February, call admissions.

OTOH, some alumni check regularly and make the assignments as they come in. That explains why some of the early submitters have gotten interviews.
