about Brown phone interview

Hi. i just gave a phone interview and it lasted lasted about 15 minutes. I don't know...we talked about pretty much everthing relevant. But, all the same, 15 minutes sounds too less. Are phone interviews always this short in duration? Really confused.

I guess it depends on the interviewer. Mine lasted about 30 minutes, but that was because of my chatty nature, i guess. You shouldn't worry.

Sohana, were you giving the interview or being interviewed? My phone interview was also pretty short - about 25min which I thought was short but then again it's harder to carry a conversation over the phone since if it goes quiet for a bit people have the urge to hang up, lol. I'm sure that very few phone interviews last longer than 30min and I would be surprised to hear of one that was more than an hour like some of the face-to-face interviews. What matters is the quality, not the amount of time, so if you think you talked about everything relevant I wouldn't worry about it.

My phone interview was close to an hour actually. But mostly because I asked many questions. Don't worry about it too much tho, the interview probably doesn't have that much weight.

I had an in-person one that went on for about an hour. I was surprised it was that long, and originally thought it would be about half that...

But I guess it's WHAT you said in that time, not necessarily about HOW long it lasted.

If they don't contact you for an interview, does that mean that you have little chance of being accepted, or am I being paranoid?

Brown usually wants everyone to get some kind of personal contact, phone or otherwise; don't read anything into the phone v. personal thing or how long it lasted. That could depend on how many alums they had to interview in your area and how much time they had. Same for whether you are contacted at all; it is probably entirely a matter of limited resources and nothing to do with the merits of your application. Good luck!

My s called the admissions office because he still has not been contacted for an interview and they said to wait until the 15th and if no call by this date, then he should call back. Is Brown on rolling admissions? Doesn't it seem too late to wait until February 15th?
