| If you want to find a related internship at Brown, then it will be hard unless you have some sort of connection. I contacted many of the professors at Brown also because I wanted to do some bio-related research, but they either didn't reply, or they flat out said that I couldn't. That doesn't mean you can't try, but I think it will be really tough to get one because prestigious schools such as Brown don't usually get high schoolers for research...they use top undergrad and/or graduate students.
Anyway, if you still want to try, then just go on the website and get the email of some professors whose work you find interesting. I just sent them a generic email stating my name, grade, purpose, and then told them i had a resume also. If you don't find any luck, I would strongly suggest that you do the same for any of your local colleges/universities. I was able to get a research internship over the summer at URI, and i am going to be most probably working in the genetics lab. Try other schools (preferably ones that aren't ivys) and you should be successful if you show interest. Good luck. |
