| Decision: ACCEPTED!!!!!!! Stats:- SAT: 2320 M800 CR800 W720 (took twice)
- SAT IIs: Math 2-780, World-730, BioM-710 >_<
- GPA: 3.87UW/4.64W
- Rank: top 10%
- Other stats: AP Calc BC-5, AP Lang-5, AP Bio-5, AP World -4
Subjective:- Essays: got lazy and used my MIT essay (but got rejected from MIT), wrote about the world i come from-my parents. rather than unique or quirky, i aimed for eloquent prose. dunno if i actually achieved it, but i guess i did a bit, since I AM IN!!!!!!!!!!
- Teacher Recs: my bio/genetics/marine bio teacher wrote a really personal, effusive and brilliant rec. i'm not so sure about my english teacher. i mean she knew i really liked reading and we were fellow steinbeck fans but i wasn't particularly active in class (in fact i dozed off quite often >_<)
- Counselor Rec: hahahaha i had one counselor for 9th and 10th grade, a new one for 11th grade and then a new one for 12th grade. she knew absolutely nothing about me.
- Hook (if any): NONE
Location/Person:- State or Country: MD
- School Type: public magnet
- Ethnicity: Korean
- Gender: female
ECs and awards:- School ECs: field hockey from 9-11th grade (captain 10th grade, had to quit 12th grade b/c parents needed me at the store), NHS from 11-12th grade, SHS from 11-12th grade, and philosophy club from 9-12th grade
- Other ECs: piano since i was 5, art from 8-11th grade, AWANA 5th grade teacher at church (6-12th grade)
- Awards: 2007 finalist for dna day essay contest, 2005 3rd place for MSMTA spring solo festival, 2005 honorable mentions for MD federal junior duck stamp competition, National Merit semifinalist (and finalist w/ 2500 company scholarship, even though I didn't tell brown about being a finalist), AP Scholar w/ Honor
Other Factors: i sent in some extra recs (one from piano teacher "best student i've ever had" and a pastor at my church) General Comments: I AM SO FREAKING HAPPY. I JUST JUMPED AROUND MY HOUSE AND SCREAMED. however, i am a little concerned about financial aid. i should send the business farm supplement soon. >_<
SO HAPPY HOLY @(#$*@($

| for confused people:
log in using the login name you got in the letter.
click applicant, student and financial aid
then click admissions
go to processed applications, fall 2008
and then at the bottom of the page, beneath application data, there's a button that says "click here"
click it.
decision should pop up. |
