I completely understand what you mean, kamichi. I just want some form of correspondence.

I heard that they're going on to sending the gap year acceptance offers. would any of you consider taking off a year from college to enter brown in the class of 2013?

Well I'm already on a gap year in the UK, and even though I'd always planned on it I hadn't though of applying to university in the States until my gap year started. Before that I had a place lined up for this September in the UK, so taking a second gap year wouldn't realistically be an option for me.

guys, don't know if you know this already but thought i'd share in case: according to the BASC interviewers, they plan to take 50 off the waitlist. not sure how many of you are already taken off it but 50's better than none at all.

What are BASC interviewers? Brown something something something interviewers...?

I wish Brown would at least tell us something, like if they're pretty much done with the waitlist and that probably only a couple more places will open up because of the so-called "summer melt" or if there are still several slots available.

um Brown Alumni Schools Committees or something like that.. basically the organization of alumni that interview. i thought it'd just be a more official confirmation.

I finally got the rejection yesterday. It was to be expected, I'm glad it's now definite. Well done to those who got offered places for 2013. Obviously taking a gap year isn't as common a practice in the States as it is here in the UK, but I've just taken one and it was a great experience. Working and travelling were both great.

allo, i received the letter in the mail on saturday. it basically said that all the spots are full, so any students they even do plan on considering from the waitlist would have to wait a gap year to attend brown.

I just got the letter from Brown offering me admission for the class of 2013 and.....i have NO idea what to decide - it's either this with the gap year or Middlebury 2012. Anyways, I called the admissions office and they told me that, even if someone decides not to go to Brown in 2012 that was offered a position, they won't take people from the 2013 group to fill up their spot

qboy, i heard that after a student accepts a spot from 2013, then they could be considered for 2012 if a spot opens up. but they won't open a 2012 spot for someone who did not accept the position in the class of 2013.
