I accepted UC Berkeley's offer of admission, but I'm still hoping to get accepted by Brown.

Right now I'm a member of University of Maryland's class of 2012 - they gave me a full ride. I still love Brown though...

At the installment of the new Bruin Club e-board, Dean of Admissions Jim Miller said our yield this year was quite high and that there may be as many as 60 students more than anticipated in this year's freshman class."

nope...and it is possible that there is a fall out from people getting off the waitlist at HYPSM, so nothing is out of the question yet

I don't know if this means anything at all, but my friend who was waitlisted at Brown was asked (via email) if she wanted to be on the waitlist and was told to call the admissions office. She did not accept the position on the waitlist via email and is going elsewhere. She just thought it was odd that she was told to call in immediately.

Brutus when you say she was "asked if she wanted to be on the waitlist" do you mean she was offered admission? Or that she was waitlisted but rejected a place on the waitlist and then was offered a place on the waitlist again on the phone??

im confused...

Hmm... my GC called today and they said they were still receiving reply cards and didn't know what their yield was yet. There was no mention of the over-yield modestmelody was talking about... so maybe that's a good sign? Or maybe the person my GC talked to didn't know very much. Anyways, they told her that they should know by early next week whether or not they will be going to their waitlist.

Sorry about the confusion. She was waitlisted but declined a position on the waitlist. She was emailed by admissions and asked if she wanted to accept a position on the waitlist and call immediately. She is attending elsewhere.

I called the admission office yesterday, they confirmed that the decision haven't been made yet, they're still checking the incoming students.
