| why do they not have an acceptance day for the waitlisted candidates? is it because we are the reserve team? lemme tel yal one thg abt being a reserve, it feels bad when the big guns in the first team are gunning at all fronts while you are in hundreds sitting in the sidelines...but when the big ones fall, it is those reserves who cover up and fill in the blanks...this is exactly why these universities keep the waiting list, right? the number games, the co-admission factor, the financial aid... the ****ty game...a doggy dog world fellas...getting used to it... |

| first off, it's "dog eat dog" world.
Second, the reason why they don't is because 90% of the time, you know whether you're accepting your waitlist admit within about 5 mins of getting it. It would also be a total waste of money to put on a day for what, 15 students? Would they do it for every round? It's just impractical.
Also, if you want to make yourself feel better, don't look at it scarsta's way (and trust me, as a varsity athlete who is not a starter, I know all about the "being the reserve" feeling) most college admissions people will tell you that once they have their freshman class, if you were to throw out all those applicants and make them choose again from the remaining ones, they wouldn't be able to tell the difference between the two classes. While only 15% get in, I'd venture 75% are perfectly qualified to be here. |

| The 10 student thing was before Harvard announced that they are going to take 200+ kids from their waitlist. Hopefully that means that they will take a bit more then this. |

| No need to be fiesty xmobile, we should be thanking him.
Thank you Wii Seller, for improving our odds of getting into Brown. Please call them tomorrow and remove yourself from the waiting list. Everyone here wishes you an excellent time at H.
(shh... nobody tell him that Brown is indefinitely cooler.) |

| How do waitlisted applicants usually find out if they get off the waitlist? Would it be by e-mail or phone or letter? |

| puella, going from threads of the Brown waitlist for the last couple of years I think they send the decision out by mail only. But if you want you can call in and find out as well. I'm guessing it'll probably be the same this year as well. |

| I heard a rumor from a friend who found it off of another thread here that Brown will be admitting 10 students first round...but I did not see it myself so it might just be hearsay.
Oh, they don't call? I guess that means I don't have to spend five hours by the phone every day anymore, yay! |
