swim2daend, chance threads can only marginally boost your confidence because chances are that you already know whether or not you're in the ballpark. I think the rest is all a very selective potluck - you're bringing something to Brown, but you just don't know whether or not Brown wants it!

@xinyoureyes: One more liberal person who's stuck in the bastion of conservatives? Amen, that's my life story as well, coming from India |

I think the people at the school were disarmingly nice. I mean, seriously, right from my tour guide to the lady making paninis at Faunce to the admissions officer at my info session. I think everyone there has their feet firmly rooted to the ground, despite being stratospheric in terms of intellect or passion or whatever else got them in, and that is one of Brown's many assets .
And you guys rock too! Here's to hoping that we're all in Providence next fall!

I mean I've been trying to decide between applying early to Columbia or Brown and when I emailed professors from both universities, the one's from Brown actually seemed like they cared.

Hey guys! I'm Michael, and I fell in love with Brown after looking into it this winter. I'm going to Summer@Brown this June/July, and I will almost definitely be applying ED |

Yo Quasi, what brings you to this part of the forum?
Haha, kidding. You're totally welcome here. Actually, anyone is welcome here, Brown ED-er or not!

Yeah, but they're only honorary members, so we can convince them to go ED right?

Haha. I'm nearly as obstinate as you, Obstinate, so it'll be difficult convincing me.
I might do Amherst ED, though. This radical idea occurred to me today. After a few hours of agonizing and the ridiculous feeling that I'm cheating on my dream-school-for-years for even entertaining the idea of ED-ing any other school.
(Only on CC would ED sound like sex.)
