Application Question

Did anyone else notice this? I'll just paste the email I sent to the admissions office:

I'm currently a prospective transfer student, and I just have a quick question regarding the transfer student writing supplement. The essay question on the bryn mawr transfer pdf file asks to write a short essay explaining why I wish to attend Bryn Mawr College. However, the Bryn Mawr supplement for the common application asks to state what I would gain from the education experience at Bryn Mawr, and what I would contribute to the community. I'm not exactly sure which question to answer, or if I should fill out the both the common application supplement and the supplement provided on the website.

It was my understanding that we simply had to fill out the common application (as a transfer student) and the Bryn Mawr transfer supplement and that's it. I don't think we have to fill out the Bryn Mawr supplement to the common app as well - I thought that was just for regular applicants. (Wouldn't there be overlap in the questions asked?) But that's just what I thought. Let me know if the admissions office says otherwise.

Random question that I didn't want to start a new thread for:

Does anyone know if we will recieve our decisions by mail or on the "virtual Bryn Mawr account"?

If I remember correctly, you will receive your decisions by both email and mail, as well as on the VBM account and possibly a phone call.

The admissions office hasn't emailed me back yet unfortunately. I might just have to call them, which I'm reluctant to do since I have a slight phone phobia ha. Oh well.

I think that a single essay can answer both questions.

For example, instead of just saying "I want to transfer to BMC because it has a great XYZ program and a close-knit community", you could elaborate how you would benefit from the XYZ program and how you hope to interact with the community (i.e. benefit and give back to it).
