| Chudiane- awww! It's ok. I think many people got into BMC b/c BMC looks beyond GPA (I mean I had a 3.85 weighted/3.6 UW which isn't fabulous) and instead looks at your activities and essay.
I also got rejected/ equivalent to rejection by many places.
Rejected by: W+M (yet the competition is stiff coming from Northern VA), Macalester, and Mcgill
Waitlisted by: Scripps and Oberlin (I REALLY wanted to go there, so I might send in extra crap so that I could get the chance to be in that .00001 percent off the waitlist)
Accepted by: Smith, BMC (YAYAYAYAYAY), University of Arizona (8 K- merit), and the College of Wooster (20 K- merit)
And I haven't heard from Grinnell, but I only put my name in the hat for Grinnell after I'd already completed an application after being a finalist for Grinnell's posse program = full ride....now I'm thinking FRIKIN IOWA!!! HELL NO!!! |

| My D is going to open house, too. Bryn Mawr is the only women's college of the four she has it narrowed down to: Occidental, Lewis and Clark, Dickinson and Bryn Mawr. It should be interesting because all four have something she really likes about them, but they are all a little different. |

| emma problemma - ahahahah, my sentiments exactly. i know its bad but i largely picked my schools based on location. haha dont wanna be in the middle of no wheree for the next 4 years. 12 miles away from philly isnt too bad right?
also, does anyone know how long it will take the to process financial aid for late docs? im realllly worried about the $$ part haha |

| Chudiane- I just sent in the very last of my stuff yesterday, so it should take a couple days to go through the mail and at TOPS a week for them to decide- they probably don't have many packages to decide on. When did you send your stuff in?
Bryn Mawr is DEFINITELY not in the middle of nowhere. |

| brillar - they have all the current students' fin aid packages to decide on But prospective students probably get priority because you have to make a decision soon. |

| Neurotic- By the way, I meant to tell you not to sulk. You kicked butt in college admissions.
UGH this year was nuts. No one in our school is going to an Ivy, and we usually have around 10 at last going. At least we're covered! It's only going to get worse next year, and the next... Blah.
Ah, and I'm also definitely going to the open campus days! I'll see anyone that's going there!
Should the CCers meet up, or would that be too weird?
Barium- Aaaah, yup, haha, forgot about that. Hopefully you're right and we do get some type of priority because I'm just praying everything goes well... I can't settle until I get fin-aid back. Gah!

| brillar - i sent it in on March 21st, the day i found out i got accepted and quickly realized that i may not be able to pay for the best school i got into lol. i figure since they wanted everything done by march 1st and got it out by may 21st, the MOST it will take is 20 days but hopefuly ALOT sooner. BAH! ITS BEEN 12 DAYS ><
for our school too, normally our school gets about 2-3 kids accepted into each ivy. this year, we had a few more cornells etc but only 1 waitlisted to harvard. alot more kids were being rejected from the local uc's. i really do think considering the competition this year, my getting into uc sandiego and bmc is truly a blessing. I'd hate to be next year's kids too. DArn THE GROWING POPULATION (with perhaps growing intelligence) xD
i might go to the open house if i can afford it. airfare is ssoooo $$$
barium - by prospective you mean admitted class of 2012 right? |

| Chudiane- Yup, I'm pretty sure that's what Barium means.
I am so so so so so grateful for BMC. I really really want to go to a LAC and I was waitlisted to my other three (I'm not exactly sure why I didn't apply to more). I'd be willing to go into more debt for BMC (and most likely will) but I think their 100% need met fin-aid should be better than the best offers I've gotten yet, so hopefully everything will be okay.
Gah, if I lived in CA I probably wouldn't go for just two days... have you visited before? Airfare is craaaazy. |

| brillar - I KNOW!! boo, i am looking at it right now. $334 is the cheapest x| if i go alone (which would be the cheapest) i can only stay for the open house. if i go with my family..yeeeeeck cost can easily exceed $1000 with hotels and what not. i have not ever, ever been to the east coast. but friends who went there for college LOVE it. the bmc person said they cant compensate the cost either so im realllly >< i guess if i get a good aid package. i'll go for sure, if i dont get it in time..then eh...serious decision making to do. ($334 means a itouch, new furniture, or a realllllly nice clock with a globe that spins like the earth does through the day) |

| Chudiane- Well, I'll consider myself lucky since I live near D.C. traveling to BMC is only an 1 1/2 hour train ride away or 3ish hour drive! I've visited twice! But it is sooooo beautiful! Even the rollercoaster vid doesn't do it justice. But those fares are steep!
NeuroticSenior- Definitely go to BMC! Bucknell is too preppy and everything else simply doesn't match up to BMC!
As far as money goes I think BMC might be worth it. I think the alumn connections would be fabulous and I'm just so excited about the intense, amazing curriculum! |

| Ah well, I don't think I'd give up so much for two days- sure, it's nice and all, but orientation will do basically the same thing except it will be much much much much better because we'll have our customs groups and everyone will be there and know they're going there.
NeuroticSenior- we definitely should set up a time/place or something. Or I'll just write Jess/Brillar on my name tag, haha. Do we get name tags, I wonder? We should.
Emma-
I'm in Lancaster so I'm an hour train ride away too- too bad the closest I've been was when I drove past on the way to Swarthmore (I know, I'm a traitor). I'm probably going to go next week sometime, since it's only about 35 dollars round trip for me to get there.
I hope BMC is worth it (the money)- I can't exactly say because I don't know a lot about their financial aid. I'm definitely willing to go into debt, just not UBER debt. We'll see, I guess.
