Looking at possible college choices, I came across Bryn Mawr and everything about this college looks great, but is there some sort of symphonic or wind ensemble at Bryn Mawr that is open to non music majors?
I've been participating in band for six years now, playing the euphonium/baritone/trumpet and it's something I want to continue in college as an extra curricular.

You can join the Orchestra at Haverford or the Wind Ensemble at Swarthmore. I know students who do each, and I don't think either of them has ever taken a music class for credit.

Bryn Mawr itself does not have a music department. The only arrangement for musically-inclined students we have on campus are a few practice rooms in Goodheart.

Can students keep their electric pianos to their dorms so they can warm up before running off to Haverford?

You can technically have an electric piano in your room if you would like, but I am not sure how much your roommate and your neighbors would appreciate you practicing in your room.

Each of the two music buildings at Haverford has several practice rooms with pianos in the basement, so you can warm up there right before going to class/rehearsal/your private lesson. Or you can practice on the piano in the common room of your dorm (if you don't mind other people watching or listening) or in the practice rooms in Goodheart/Merion.

Is there space to store a cello at Haverford? Lugging one back and forth won't be fun.

Does anyone know anything about a instrument rental policy or is it required that everyone own their instrument?
