I don't know what to do b/c I love both!! I'm going to visit BMC for the first time saturday for the Mosaic including the Open Campus Days on Sunday and Monday but I can't help but stress which one would be best in my situation for me to attend. Both schools gave me GREAT financial Aid Packages so that's not a problem (thank goodness!), and in addition to that both schools are equally well-known although the people I know would rather me go to BU. I want to stay home b/c of my friends & boyfriend, but I don't want to stay around Boston, I just want to leave!! I feel like BU is too close, but is it really? If I were ever to have an emergency, which is likely with my health being extremely unpredictable how could I receive help from my parents if I'm 6 hours away...I'm basing my decision on my experience at BMC this weekend but I equally love BU! & It's killing me...Another problem is that I will be applying to Medical School after college and idk if going to BMC would affect my chances of getting into Med School especially since they will probably take into account that I specifically picked an all-women's college...but idk, can anyone shed some light for me on comparing the two schools although they are VERY different

I'm going to be completely honest and say that the education you will recieve at BMC is going to be better and more personalized than the one you would recieve at BU. If anything I think BMC will increase your chances of getting into med school. They are a top feeder school and I don't think the fact that it's an all women's college will make any difference. Don't get me wrong, BU is a great school, but it's obviously huge which could be a plus or a minus depending on what you're looking for. At BMC the student to faculty ratio is 8:1, meaning a lot more individual attention. Plus, you have to option to take classes at Haverford and Swat (which I'm sure you already know). And even though the U.S. news ranking can be random sometimes, they rank Bryn Mawr, Swat, and Haverford as the top three liberal arts colleges in PA. BMC is #23 overall and BU is #60 for national universities.

BMC is known for amazing academics and having a degree from bryn mawr really means something in the job market. I understand your dilemma, especially with wanting to be near your parents, but from what I've read about BMC, it seems like an incredibly supportive community. I hope visiting this weekend will help you make your decision! I'll be there too.

Thank you! I'm excited to go to BMC but I'll know if its not right for me. I just need to figure out in terms of resources which school is best for me because I love both atmosphere although they are very different!
