Hi, I called yesterday and was told to expect an email within 30 minutes. The following arrived:

Good day!

I write to provide you a status report on our wait list situation. As of today, it appears that we will not be able to offer any additional places in Bucknell's Class of 2012 to students on our wait list for the next few weeks. The current commitments we have received meet our enrollment goals; due to a higher than expected yield on our offers, we were able to offer only a few positions to students on our wait list. We are aware, however, that wait list activity at other institutions may impact our current numbers. We are prepared to make a definite statement about the status of our wait list by mid-June.

If you wish to remain on Bucknell's wait list:
I realize that you are presently making alternative plans. However, if your interest in Bucknell remains high and you wish to remain on our wait list for the next few weeks, please visit our website at Class of 2012 Wait List || Bucknell University to reconfirm your interest.

If you no longer wish to remain on Bucknell's wait list:
If you no longer wish to hold a position on our wait list, please visit Class of 2012 Wait List || Bucknell University to indicate that your plans to attend another institution have solidified.

I got a letter a couple days ago saying that they have not even started looking at the wait list because they have enough people to fill their freshmen class, and that they cannot offer me admission. o well.

Sorry to hear that. I don't think the admissions office was expecting such an increase in yield this year. What are your plans for the fall?

Got the same letter Nudder...I'll be off to GW, assuming BC doesn't let me off their waitlist.

I am on the waiting list to BC and Oberlin, though I heard Oberlin hasn't gone to their waiting list either. If I don't get into either of those schools, then I'm off to University of Pittsburgh. It was kind of a disappointment to not get in any of these places, but I'm excited about Pitt.
