I got into Geneseo, can I get into Bucknell?

I got into Geneseo, can I get into Bucknell, Colgate, Colby..?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm dying to get back letters from schools especially BUCKNELL!
I recently got into Ithaca, Allegheny, and SUNY Geneseo.
I'm wondering what my chances are of getting into my other schools:

Bucknell (mostly just this school, I really want to go)
Colgate
Colby
Bates
Williams (I applied on a whim)
Middlebury
Franklin and Marshall
Skidmore
Cornell
SUNY Binghamton

My stats:

recommendations were good as far as I can tell my teachers love me, I was student of the month once.

My essay was pretty creative and I worked really hard on it.
I really want to go to Bucknell, I see they have great dancers their.
I also worked really hard on all their supplements.

Chance me PLEASE!!!! I'm dying to get back letters from schools!!!!

I think you have a good chance. I have a D there now. She had similar stats, although her class rank was a bit lower (still top 10 %). Her ec's were similar. Music, dance, volunteer work. She had other ec's as well (section editor of school newspaper, drama club, etc). She is also legacy.

I also have a S at Colgate and a D at Cornell. My D at Cornell, like you, is a dancer (more so than Bucknell D) and founder of her school's debate club. Also did music, etc. S and Cornell D had higher stats however--higher sat's and gpa.

So, IMO, I think your best chance, of these three schools, is Bucknell. All three are excellent schools. And yes, I am biased.

My D loves Bucknell. Her roommate has a guarantee transfer to Cornell but is staying at Bucknell because she loves it.

Thank you so much! That is so funny we have such similiar stats.

Do both your daughters like the dancing programs at Cornell and Bucknell? I def. want to continue dancing, difficult dancing, such as ballet, jazz, and tap.

Any other thoughts? It would be much appreciated

Bucknell D does not dance at school because she only studied tap and there is no "tap only" group. Her roommate is a serious dancer though and is involved in dance at Bucknell and says there are many good, serious dancers there.

Cornell D does dance at school. Because the school is so large there are many dance groups. She thinks hers is the best, of course. All of the young ladies have danced for many, many years and are serious about dance. They have try-outs every semester.

Good luck with your college selection.
