Which do you think is better? Although Texas is ranked higher, would USC have better opportuninties (during school) and emphasize more individualized attention due to the caliber of the student and its size?

Really depends on if you wanna work Cali or elsewhere.

McCombs kids get a good amount of attention, the classes aren't as big since only b-school kids can take them for the most part and the career services are great.

Texas is ranked higher than USC by .1 of a full point.

If I were to choose, I'd pick USC only because there are so many job opportunities and internships nearby. Who cares about the price?

I would suggest UT's business school simpy because of its name value. I know many people say that name isnt everything, but I think it's really important when getting a job. Perhaps California does present you with more job opportunities, but that is not to say you won't have a lot of opportunites in texas either. Dallas has tons of job opportunities as well as austin and houston. =]

What about outside of Texas and California - which would have better connections/ job placement? As far as salary goes, both are really similiar, but USC has an edge (due to high cost of living in CA?). But I'm inclined to beleive that many many students get jobs outside of the home state, but was just wondering which degree is respected more and while attending school what kind of opportunties are available.

USC and UT networks are two of the strongest in the nation - you can't go wrong with either. Obvious advantages to get jobs in their respective states but outside of that, about the same.

if you are choosing between schools like nyu, usc, texas then work where you plan on living.
