What is Chicago <the city> known for?

Now i know that New York City is the hub for investment banking and financial advising, but what's Chicago mainly known for? I'm going to a school close to Chicago and would like to get an internships during summer, but I'd still like to know the gist of what Chicago is all about.

Thanks!

Yes, but there is a big plant there. Where do you think the Tauruses are made? Chicago! I believe. I don't think it's known for anything in particular, but realize that Chicago is one of the three big financial centers with New York and San Francisco.

Personally, I think Chicago is basically just New York but much cleaner and nicer.

Architecture. I know UChicago is known for economics, particularly theoretical economics, so maybe that may also play a roll, since a lot of the UChicago kids would also want internships and jobs nearby.

Oh and prostitution + drug abuse, but that goes without saying.

San Fran is not a top 3. NYC, Toronto and Chicago are the top 3 by a large margin.
