Babson College-Number 1?

Is Babson a good business school to gain a lot of business knowledge and land a pretty good job upon graduating? I know it has the number one entrepreneurship program --but would that help in landing a job in finance or management?

I plan on getting my MBA no matter where I go, and I really am starting to think about management consulting as a possible career choice. Is Babson a possibility or what schools would be best?

Conventional wisdom would say that the best business schools/business programs for undergrads (as in the ones that help you get the best jobs) are Wharton (clear best), Sloan, Stern, Haas, Ross, Cornell's AEM, UVA's business school, and Emory. There are other really strong ones that I can't think of. If you just want the best job placement into business, along with those business schools, going to an Ivy, top LAC (Williams, Amherst, Swarthmore), NU, Stanford, Duke, or other top school will help you land a great job out of college.

Keep in mind I know nothing about Babson, its business program, or its placement. I do know that going to a top 20 college will greatly help you get a good job on wall street and/or in consulting.

Babson has a great entrepreneurship program, I know that. I don't know much more, I would look at the career center reports.

Among undergraduate programs (which I think is what you are asking about), Babson's program is pretty much all geared to entrepreneurship--which is why it generally gets ranked #1 every year in this category.

There are some schools similar like NYU, which is geared almost exclusively to Finance.

Other schools tend to be more well-rounded as far as majors. For example, Indiana, which ranks second in entrepreneurship this year (undergraduate) has 7 other programs ranked in the top 10 (finance, accounting, international business, mgmt info systems, management, marketing and quantitative science), and 3 others in the top 13 (supply chain management, production/operations, and real estate).
Undergraduate Rankings: About Us: Kelley School of Business: Indiana University Bloomington

Schools with similarly high rankings in many departments would be Penn (Wharton), Michigan, Virginia, North Carolina, USC, Emory, and UC Berkeley.

I guess it all depends upon what you are looking for.
