| Is high finance all it's cracked up to be? Any comments on whether you feel it's worth sacrificing all that time and energy to make more money? |

| Most people who are interested in "high finance" want to make large amounts of money, but they also want to be able to transition into positions with more control over a company's direction. It's not just about money, it's also about being able to find work that really challenges you (which can open up after you prove yourself). The money is a large motivating factor, but you do have the ability to really make a company succeed. |

| You also have the ability to run a company into the ground. Incidentally, this is far more common than actual success in running a business. |

| I'm surprised some of you haven't come across the term high finance. Think bankers, traders, and fund managers. |

| Yeah, I wasn't saying that everyone who gets into "high finance" actually succeeds. I was simply saying you have the possibility to direct/help a company.

| When I think of high finance, I rarely think of bankers, traders or fund managers unless I'm in New York. Here on the west coast it's mostly about venture capitalists and CFOs. I think that's the biggest difference between the two coasts (and the midwest is probably all about CFOs that run the giant oil companies and agricultural conglomerates--and who are probably making more money nowadays that anybody on either coast).

| Those were just examples. High finance includes, but is not limited to, bankers/traders/fund managers. VCs and CFOs are part of the list too. |

| There is no such thing as "high finance" - nice try, though. |

| Read A Random Walk Down Wall Street, just as an example. Just because you haven't seen/heard it being used does not mean it does not exist. |
