Rank the schools, that I am applying for BA

ECON or BA
1. RICE - high reach
2. UVA - reach
3. MICHIGAN - reach
4. UNC- reach
5. William and Mary - what do you think about WM ( probably ED)
6. UIUC- safety
7. INDIANA B - got admitted in Rolling...DA finance

UC
1, UCLA - high reach
2. UCSD - reach
3, UCIR - if i go there, i would transfer to UB or USC
4. UCD

I'm applying for Business or Econ.
The thing is, with UVA, MICH,UNC - direct admission to undergraduate BA program..seems hard.... I don;t wanna go to bloomington,,,

If you're applying to Rice in Texas and some top 10 business programs, you might as well apply to McCombs at U Texas. It's in Austin, so you don't have to worry about Bloomington, and here's the best part: you get admitted to the business program your freshman year, so you'll know for sure if you'll make it or not before you decide where you're going.

ThanK you guys ,,but,

What about William and Mary, for Business or Econ. + PostBA degree in some other school....? I'm having trouble deciding ED ...application. UNC(EA)
UVA(RD) Mcintire (heard that its good, but the size of the school accounts for it...)

I don't wanna go to big schools,,,,like UVA, UNC
small schools....better connections with professors, (I want to go to RICE or WM,,,
since i have better chances in getting in WM ....in ED.
WM has the highest sat score average (public schools)

I'm planning for MBA or MS.....after 3~5yrs in companies in Asia, South America,,,etc (the so called BRICS) .....After I get a post B degree in engineering, or IT related majors.

If I get into William and Mary,, I would apply for CSU student exchange program..and in the summer programs - planning for internship in IT related companies.
( I've been learning the computer gig since I was in 15)

SO HOW ABOUT IT>,,,,,GUYS

^ the negative issue about large schools having bad/lack student-faculty relationship does not really hold in most elite business schools, such as UVa-McIntire or Michigan-Ross. Each and every student at those schools is valued highly by the school and by their faculty. The bigger the school is, the bigger your connection would be. Moreover, think about the quality of students that you would mingle with for the next 4 years of your life. The student quality of UVa-McIntire and Michigan-Ross is much better than that of W&M's and the like.

I'd say aim for the best business school that you can get into and decide later when you have the acceptances.

W&M/Rice>UVirginia>>UMichigan. See Hawkette's post re % of students <600 on verbal SAT. Between 1/4 to 1/3 are below at the top publics. Multiply that by number of students and you have a peer group in the thousands that scored pretty low that you would "mingle" with. Not the case at W&M. It is the elite public school of America.

swish14, if you think you can rank undergrad business schools based on SAT then I think you're gravely wrong. Many top, top employers rank Ross equal to HYPSM. For example, McKinsey lists Ross and HYPSM+W as their core schools, but not those schools you've mentioned. Yes, not even Duke, Columbia, Dartmouth or Brown and the like...
