Help me figure my future out, please very stressful.

I am currently attending my first fall semester of college at University of Houston. I chose this school because it was local to where I live and at the time of the decision I was not ready to move away.

Things have changed and I really regret picking University of Houston because the social life and school spirit is very weak and I would like something else. I have concluded that "commuter schools" are definetly not my style. So I have came up with 3 schools that are a quite different from each other as far as reputation. These schools are: TAMU, Texas State University, and University of Texas San Antonio.

First off, my major is Business and i currently have a GPA of 3.8. This GPA is being calculated from my two classes I took during the summer of 2009 at the University of Houston.

One of my first questions are whether I would be cheating myself majorly by going to say Texas State or UTSA over TAMU. I realize that TAMU has a better school for business majors, but are Texas State and UTSA horrible or just not the best?

Im considering Texas State because i love the environment down there and its beautiful.

Im considering UTSA because I've had a few friends tell me they love it there and the campus is not bad.

Im considering TAMU because of its business program and I know a few people planning on attending there. I have never been to college station so I have no idea what the campus is like but as the time to make the decision gets closer i will make it a priority for me to visit there.

Like I said my plan is to graduate with atleast a 4 year degree in business, if you ask me which part, I would tell you I'm not sure as of this point. Im considering going to graduate school for law school or possibly getting a Masters in Business.

Please help me with some advice and guidance, this decision has really taken a toll on me, the stress is really getting to me. I just want to get out of U of H.

Thanks,

Chase

Why'd you post 2 threads about this?

But anyway, I'd say that if you can, go to UT-Austin or Rice since that's where the majority of options will be for business, plus UT would probably be a lot more fun than A&M also (especially if you're looking for school spirit). Otherwise, go to A&M hands down. It's a D-1 school so they'll have lots of spirit, plus they have solid programs and I'm sure there would be some alumni there who could help you get into some good finance positions in Texas. UT-SA and Texas State are not respected by UT alumni at all (which you will be interacting a lot with if you're doing business in Texas), so definitely go with A&M, but I'd still say if you can, go for Rice (that'll be close to home still) or UT-Austin.

A&M has a lot of school spirit - perhaps even more than UT Austin. Of the three, it's definitely the best if you can get in there.
