One of my close friends was rejected from the University of Michigan Ross b-school (for their BBA program). However, he still really wants to do business and is still thinking about getting a MBA, obviously in the future. He wanted to know if he did a non-business major and worked in non-profit for a few years (which he wanted to do after graduation), could he then go back to school, get a MBA and then get a job in consulting? Or should he bite the bullet, and spend an extra semester/year to reapply and hopefully get in?

Any help would be appreciated because I had no idea what to tell him! Thanks!

Both options work but he will have a better chance after gaining a few years of work experience before applying.
