I was just wondering everyone's thoughts on how graduate schools view your major GPA compared to your cumulative GPA. I'm sure they would like to see both as high as possible, but do you think they would allow some "slack" in your cumulative GPA if you have a very good major GPA?

My cumulative GPA upon graduating should be about 3.68, but my major GPA will be 3.92. Does the high(er) major GPA help my chances of being admitted, or do they not really care?

im also wondering about the same thing.. you know after all the reserch i think they generally care about work experience; acheivements and leadership. this is why not on a single requirements list of any top MBA program do they specify minimum GPA or GPA at all... unless you have no work exp then it matters that you have the highest academic records because then what else speaks for you but your grades... i believe that your GPA is perfect both in fact, however what will you bring to the mba program?? who are you? what have you done? how?? All the forums got me worried about my GPA but then again not a single schools mentions avg GPA or required GPA... all the y give is AVG gmat! and avg Work.... do you agree with me, cuz this makes sense to me

I agree with Magic, after all the reading and research Ive done about MBA, ti really seems to come down to who you are, what you've done and how much more do they expect you to do.

I was thinking about backing out of the whole MA at top schools because my GPA and GMAT arent impressive. However, when I looked at what they were saying (and they say this again and again and again) its not just about your grades, its about who you are and where you're going. Given me some hope!
