Hi, I'm currently a reserve officer candidate in the German Army, and hold a place to study Philosophy at Cambridge next year.

By the time I finish, I will be a Lt First Class or Captain of the reserve, as well as have a PhD in Philosophy. I'm wondering whether my reserve comission (1-4 months active duty each year, as well as 1 and a half years full-time) counts as work experience, and if the PhD counts for anything at all.
