Chanced of Getting In

Its April 7, 2009. I will be a freshman in Fall term. It still says Elig for Consid for Tier 2.
I have a 2.85 GPA.

My test scores
1 EAP Early Assessment Prog-English
2 ELM ELM Begin w 3/22/02 Test 70.00
3 SAT SAT Verbal/Critical Reading 480.00
4 SAT SAT Math 530.00
5 SAT SAT Writing 430.00
6 SAT SAT Essay 4.00

My index is 3290.

I'm kinda freaking out. All my friends have been accepted already. I called them and they said that the deadline would be mid April.

Tier 2 candidates need a 3600, so you are below range. They may open up more spots after they get an idea of how many acceptances they get from the students already notified. You can wait and see, but I would place a call to housing to see if they would still have openings for you if you are a late acceptance.

The thing is that since your Tier 2, you need a higher requirement than the local students. That usually means a 3.3ish similar gpa to be considered, and that does not even guarantee admission. But its good to be hopeful!

So basically, the people who have been accepted already, they wait and see who sends it the paper that they will attend there, and if there's still room, then I'll get in (maybe)?

tigrang...yes correct. Students accepted need to send in their "intent to register" form and deposit. I believe May 1st is the deadline. Why not call the admissions office and ask when they will begin to notify those who have lower stats, then you'll be able to make alternative plans if needed. Good luck!
