Where to stay when visiting Cal Poly

We are planning on taking our daughter up the coast to visit some of the schools during her spring break (april 6th-10th) and plan on making Cal Poly our last stop. Can anyone recommend a decent place to stay the night before that is nearby? Also, how difficult is the parking situation there? We are aware that this will also be spring break for the school so hopefully parking won't be too much of an issue. Thanks for any advice!

Are you just looking for something close to campus? And spring break for Poly is now. Spring term starts on 3/30. Parking shouldn't be a problem.

We've used the Quality Suites, 1631 Monterey St. , San Luis Obispo, CA, US, 93401
Phone: (805) 541-5001 twice now and were quite satisfied. It's walking distance from downtown and just a short drive to Cal Poly. Check it out at San Luis Obispo California hotels, Quality Suites hotel near California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo CA 93401.

We've stayed there as well and were also satisfied.

It would be great if you could be here on Thursday night to check out the downtown farmer's market!

We've stayed at Quality Suites, but that was on our first trip up there. It's quite pricey. I found The Peachtree Inn, which is right near campus as well. Pricing is great. Outside the rooms is really pretty. Rooms are just basic, but clean. And it does include a nice continental breakfast. I would highly recommend it.

Yes, the Quality Suites run around $195/night plus tax and the Peach Tree Inn is $75 > $95 depending on when you stay. Great deal except it gets booked well in advance particularly if there is a Cal Poly event.

Last week while visiting Cal Poly for a tour, we stayed at the Marriott Courtyard. A little bit out of town, but less than 10 minutes away. New, very nice, large room, 2 Q beds, nice pool. Think it was $132 a night. Would go back there again.

And there is a fairly unknown tasting room close to the Marriott if you are into that kind of thing Per Bacco Cellars. Just drive down Calle Joaquin further and follow the signs.
