| Official Cal Poly Early Decision
Hi,
Anyways, everyone check in here if you're applying ED!
Post:
Intended Major:
SAT: (M + CR out of 1600)
GPA:
Because that's basically all they look at..
Specify what GPA your giving, like CalState 10-11 A-G weighted etc...
Also, if you would like, add a little bit about your course rigor and your Extra Currics.
We can chance each other, give each other support, talk about how awesome Cal Poly is, get to know each other, and ask general questions about Cal Poly in here.

Well, I guess I'll start haha
Intended Major: Business
SAT: (M + CR out of 1600) 1400
GPA: (Cal State / UC A-G Weighted 10-11) 3.45
I'm pretty sure my ownage SAT score will counter my mediocre GPA and put me in.
My course rigor is fairly challenging, but nothing that special. And I have pretty good ECs.

Also, just a general question. How much do you think the economy and CA budget crises are going to affect Cal Poly? Everything from admissions, to graduation time, to quality of the college..?

Goodluck pinkvgirl! You have a pretty good chance!
Also, another general question. How would you rate Cal Poly SLO compared to other UCs / CalStates? When I tell people I applied ED to SLO, most people say it's a great / pretty school. But some people say, wait, your applying ED to a Cal State and give me a weird look haha..
How would you rate Cal Poly overall as a school. I know some majors are a lot better than others, but overall, where would you rate Cal Poly compared to the UCs?
I see it like:
Berk / LA
San Diego
SB / Davis / Irvine
San Luis Obispo
Santa Cruz
Riverside
CSUs / Merced
Or possibly SLO should be tied with SB / D / I.
Is that about accurate? Or what?

Just ignore those look. I rate cal poly the same level as mid-tier UC.
Here at silicon valley, Cal Poly graduates are highly regarded in the eyes of major employers.
Good luck!

Wow! Same here! People either totally get my love for Cal Poly or they are wondering why im so pumped for a state school. But to answer your question I would say...
UCLA/Berkley
San Diego
SB / Davis / Irvine/San Luis Obispo
Santa Cruz
Riverside/CSUs / Merced
pretty much the same as yours!
Oh and LSkaiWalk I meant to say that I think you have good chances too! Let's just hope the ED pool isn't too intense.

I posted in the other thread but I guess ill post here too.
Major: Civil Engineering
Weighted CSU 10-11 GPA: 3.59
SAT(CR+M): 1370
Decent ECs, leadership positions and some community service. Also had a highly rigorous course load throughout high school, taking most honors/AP courses offered. Starting with Algebra I in 7th grade, :P.
Anyways good luck to us, I hope my SAT and hard classes make up for my low GPA :O.
