So I recently got a letter in the mail from the UC system saying that I have great academics and am on track to meet the statewide eligibility requirements and I am encouraged to apply fro UC admissions. Anyone know what this is about? Is it an ELC? What are statewide eligibility reqs? Any answers would be awesome,

No, it is not ELC. It is an "On track to statewide eligibility" letter, just as it says. Meaning that by the end of senior year (if you pass all your classes, graduate, take the SAT or ACT and two SAT subject tests in two different areas), you will be guaranteed admission to a UC - but not necessarily to the UC of your choice. Most often the guarantee currently applies to UCM, though you certainly may be accepted at one or more of the other campuses.

Ok great so then whats the difference between it and the ELC? I tried researching it but I couldnt really get any concise answers.

No admission guarantees to the ELC campuses, but guaranteed SOMEWHERE. And you can use your number to access an application that is partly filled out for you.

    Google something like "ELC reviewed".

There used to be a number on the letter, but you don't need it, and yes, apply wherever you want.
