Private Universities in California - Strong in Science
Like the title says, what are some private universities in California that have strong science programs? I know about Harvey Mudd, but what other universities?

Also, do any of them have free applications?

University of the Pacific's online application is free.

Santa Clara is strong in engineering and science.

How about the obvious - Cal Tech???

Saint Mary's College of CA is very strong in sciences but is overshadowed by UCB and Stanford.

Santa Clara is good too but I believe that if you are going into the nat sciences rather than eng that SMC is as good or maybe even better choice.
