Quick question

So I took SAT this June; it was terrible
Next one will be in October
I want(ed) to apply EA to Caltech, but October SAT scores won't be ready by EA deadline
Can I still apply?

Thanks

According to this, test results from October are acceptable for EA:

There are other things to a college applications than an SAT score.

true.....but why would I willingly want to send in a bad SAT score when I have an opportunity to show a better one?

yeah but SAT scores are required, so it's important to know if you'll have acceptable ones in time

Yes, SAT scores are required. But from my experiences with people, there's often a huge amount of effort is put into gaining just a few points- effort that would better be spent elsewhere.

At top tier schools like Caltech (and especially at Caltech) SAT scores don't mean much. I don't mean to say that high SAT scores are important, just that everyone at Caltech has high SAT scores. The question when reviewing applications becomes "Great, so they scored above 1500, what else do they have?"

When applying to Caltech, there is no difference in SAT scores between a 1500 and a 1600. (so long as that 1500 had an 800 Math)

1500? No problem. I'll bet I can even score a 1600. On the new SAT that is.
