I am a former YESS participant and it was a great experience. It's a good way to network with great professors and grad students and even if you don't end up applying it's a wonderful way to get recommendations.

And YESS accepts applications from all races, one of my good friends while I was there was Chinese

Has anyone gotten notification if they were accepted or rejected yet?

The website says "by the second week of April" would that mean this week..?

It was a THIN envelope. Arrived Saturday. I live nearby. If you're out of the area the mail not reach you for a little while.

I don't want to spoil anyone's surprise. I probably shouldn't even have talked about the size of the envelope. I'll post what the letter says in a week or two.

Thanks masamune. I wouldn't even have known about Yess if it wasn't for this board. When I learned about it there were only 5 days left to apply. I really had to rush to get transcripts, teacher recs and write the essay.

Spoil the surprise??? Could this be a "since so few people applied this year, everyone was accepted, here is a list of those who applied..."? We shall see...
