Does Caltech heavily consider or include freshman high school grades for admission?

I actually have another questions referring to college freshman year grades... is it like MIT where there is first semester pass/no record or anything like that?

^ I believe that it is, but I'm not sure. I heard somewhere that it was freshman pass/fail kind of thing.
