8 year old student at Caltech?

My dad claims that he's heard of an 8 year old at Catlech who's possibly a graduate student. I highly doubt that it's true, since an 8 year old grad student would make headlines and set records.

Actually, your dad is right:

Quote:
Recent Caltech press-release contained a paragraph about the 8 year-old freshman.
Incoming class' average age was thus dropped from 18.6 to 18.3 years
Caltech Admissions said the admission of a 8 year-old is a first since 1891.
Kevin Loot is young prodigy's name.

Rick Bischoff said Kevin's application was carefully reviewed.
"Originally, we thought the application was a joke", Mr. Bischoff said.
"Later, however, we contacted Kevin's parents and confirmed that Kevin was serious".
Loot, therefore, will be the youngest student ever admitted to Caltech.
I took it from here: http://media.caltech.edu/press_releases/11704

On a more serious note, there are not any 8-year-olds here. Our youngest freshmen this year are 15 and I think our youngest grad student entered a few years ago at 17.

False alarm--it turns out that the 8-year-old is at Catlech.

And since leche means milk, it follows that the 8-year-old is in fact enrolled at the milk of a cat.
