"in a page, more or less..."

does this mean double-spaced? I would normally assume so since that's what all school papers are, but that's about 350 words which is kind of short. On the other hand doubling that seems kind of long.

what exactly are they looking for?

I actually called and asked if they meant double or single - the person said "well, if he doesn't have much to say, use double-spaced, otherwise, use single-spaced."

Mine went slightly over a page (like 2 sentences-I hope thats ok), but it was like 700 words...so maybe i just like using small words.

EDIT: oh and did you guys put a title on any of your essays?

I had a friend write it with double space one page and got in.
I used single space

I wish this were another word/character-count one; those are much easier to keep track of....
