Freshman Dorms

Can anyone comment on what the best dorm choice for an incoming Freshman would be? Thanks!

I would think that the atmosphere in the dorms changes from year to year. All are suite style with a shared bath between. Here is the link to the Mt Clef floor plan and from there you can see the other halls as well. . Mount Clef Hall (Dorm) - Residence Life | Cal Lutheran

It truly depends on your kid's preference, would they rather live in a quad or a quint?

Thanks - he doesn't, at this point, have a preference.

FWIW, my S attends football camp on the campus every summer and really likes the dorms there; Likes them better than any of the others he has seen including Claremont McKenna's which were some of the nicest I have seen. I think the presence of a common area was the kicker for him. Don't know if they all have them but Thompson does and he has stayed there at least once.

If you can visit it may help you decide. Pederson and Thompson open up to outdoor halls, and a courtyard; Mt. Clef has a large indoor lounge area with rooms opening to interior halls; Afton is farther from the other freshman dorms, mixed with upper classman, so it all depends on what you are looking for.
