Apartments

I've been admitted as a transfer student, and will be moving from out of state (New Jersey) with my boyfriend for the fall semester. He's not attending, so I need an apartment for the both of us. I've been out there a couple times since Christmas so I was able to look at a couple apartments, but there are so many and I don't know anything about any of them. Can anyone tell me anything about any of the apartments in that area? How much I should expect to pay? All I need is a one bedroom/one bath. I'd prefer it to be furnished, have parking, and not be in the shady area of town. Any advice is greatly appreciated!
Thanks

ummm i cant really tell you much about the apartments, except that they do exist, lol. I know because my two friends going to the same school as I want me to live with them. They aren't rich either so it cant be that much money.

I currently live in Pathways Apartment, lots of older CSULB students live here. It's a lot nice then other apartments such as Bixby Apt or Park Ave. or Beverly Plaza that tons of LB students live in, so it's a bit more expensive then those apts. A 2 bed 2 bath is around 2000, I have 3 other roomies.
